ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A warehouse worker was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation early Saturday, June 14, in Barangay Sibaguan, Roxas City.
The operation was led by PLTCOL Chris Artemius A. Devaras, chief of the Capiz Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU), under the supervision of PCOL Albert D. Tapulao, provincial director of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (PPO), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6.
The suspect, identified as alias “Ilong,” 31, is a resident of Sitio Pangpang, Barangay Bolo, Roxas City.
Police said the suspect is listed as a high-value individual (HVI) on the Provincial Priority Target List.
The operation, conducted at around 1:55 a.m., led to the confiscation of 22 heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
Authorities also recovered PHP10,000 in buy-bust money, one plastic ziplock sachet, a pouch, and a motorcycle allegedly used in the transaction.
Devaras said the recovered illegal drugs weighed 150 grams, with a standard drug price of PHP1,020,000.
The items have been submitted to the Capiz Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the Capiz PPO and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and the Anti-Counterfeiting Law.
