Wanted rape suspect arrested in Sapian, Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 48-year-old man long wanted for the crime of rape was arrested Friday afternoon, Feb. 20, in Barangay Poblacion, Sapian, Capiz.
The police identified the suspect as alias “Lito” of Sitio Kamanok, Barangay Bilao, Sapian.
He was arrested by operatives from the Sapian Municipal Police Station led by PLt. Steve Ian H. Bautista, Sapian police chief.
The alias warrant of arrest under Criminal Case No. 2060-M-2011 for violation of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, was issued by Judge Ma. Theresa V. Mendoza-Arcega of Regional Trial Court, Branch 17, Malolos, Bulacan, on July 18, 2012.
The court recommended PHP 200,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
He is presently under the custody of the Sapian PNP station for proper disposition and subject to court referral.
