The three most wanted persons in the town of Janiuay, Iloilo were arrested one after the other morning of June 16, 2021.
Police first nabbed Joseph Castromayor, 26, a resident of Poblacion Delgado, Calinog, Iloilo, at Barangay Gines, Janiuay, around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday
Next to fall were Barangay Kagawad Raymond Billena, 49, and his wife, Anna Marie Billena, 37, also of Gines village.
Members of the Janiuay Police Station, the Regional Maritime Unit 6, the 603rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB 6), the RFMB-6 headquarters, and the Calinog Police Station arrested the suspects by virtue of an arrest warrant for violation of Republic Act 9208 as amended by RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012) docketed under Criminal Case Nos. 21-1035 and 21-1036.
Judge Gemalyn Faunillo Tarol of the Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 76, Janiuay, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on June 11, 2021.
No bail was set for their temporary freedom.
Major Eleazar Climacosa, Janiuay police chief, said Raymond, Anna Marie, and Castromayor were the top three most wanted persons in the municipality.
They were accused of recruiting two minors from Lambunao to work at a “night club.”
The suspects are now detained at the lock-up cell of Janiuay Police Station.
