BACOLOD City – A man wanted for 67 counts of qualified theft charges was arrested by police at Crossing Sawmill, Barangay Himogaan Baybay, Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Police served an arrest warrant against Jacob Garcia, 24, of the said village, a day after the court issued the warrant on Sept. 21, 2022.
The warrant was issued by Presiding Judge Leoncio Ragay Bancoro of Regional Trial Court Branch 41 in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
The court set a bail of P30,000 each for the said cases, or a total of P2,010,000 for his provisional liberty.
Police Major Roberto Indiape, Sagay City police chief, said that Garcia worked as a plant accountant in a gas corporation based in Dumaguete City.
It was the company that filed the cases against him, the police chief added.
