Wanted drug suspects arrested in Roxas City

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police arrested two individuals wanted for illegal drug cases in separate operations on Monday, Feb. 9, authorities said.
The Panitan Municipal Police Station served a warrant of arrest against alias Manuel, 52, of Barangay Salocon, Panitan, Capiz, at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in Barangay San Jose, Roxas City.
Panitan police chief Capt. Ronald F. Ton-Ogan said the warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 18 in Roxas City on Oct. 10, 2024, under Criminal Case No. C-288-16, with no bail recommended.
Police said Manuel, who was already detained for alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade, was charged anew for violating Article II, Section 5 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In a separate operation, police arrested alias Maria, 35, of Barangay II, Roxas City, for alleged illegal drug use.
Authorities said her warrant of arrest was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 16 in Roxas City on Jan. 30, 2026.
The court recommended bail of PHP 3,000 for her temporary liberty, police said.
Maria was released after posting bail, authorities added.
