BACOLOD City – A construction worker was killed while another was wounded in a workplace accident in Sibulan, Negros Oriental Tuesday night.
Police identified the fatality as Jerome Cabalida, 27, of Bindoy town while the wounded was Crisaldo Cañete, 38.
A report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), indicated that a precast concrete wall was supposed to be installed in a townhouse project using a crane operated by 31-year-old Erwin Riego of Bacoor, Cavite.
But the hook detached from the crane and the wall hit the two construction workers below.
The victims were taken to Silliman University Medical Center in Dumaguete City, where Cabalida was pronounced dead.
