Ninety-three new cases were reported by the Department of Health-Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-WV CHD) on August 6, 2020, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the region to 1794.

Twenty-seven patients (WV Patient Nos. 1708, 1710 to 1715, 1722 to 1740, and 1765) are under home-based quarantine, while nine (WV Patient Nos. 1632, 1709, 1716 to 1720, 1753, and 1755) are under facility-based quarantine, and five (WV Patient Nos. 1707, 1762, 1763, 1764, and 1775) are admitted in a hospital.
Meanwhile, there were 39 Locally-Stranded Individuals (LSI) reported:

– 18-year-old female from Victorias City, Negros Occidental (WV Patient No. 1742);
– 24-year-old female from Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental (WV Patient No. 1743);

Only one repatriate (WV Patient No. 1791) is admitted in a hospital, while the rest are under facility-based quarantine.
Three were Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF), including a 41-year-old male from Oton, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 1704), a 31-year-old male from Oton, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 1705), and a 27-year-old male from Banate, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 1706).
Two others were Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR), a 43-year-old male from La Paz, Iloilo City (WV Patient No. 1786), and a 26-year-old male from Anilao, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 1788).
The remaining one case is of an LSI from Manila, which has been tagged to the National Capital Region.
One of the latest cases, a 69-year-old male from Molo, Iloilo City (WV Patient No. 1721) was posthumously reported.
Another death reported was of WV Patient No. 1143, a 78-year-old female from City Proper, Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, 34 new recoveries were also reported as of August 6.
Eleven cases were positive during repeat testing.
A total of 1,861 test results via Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) from four DOH-accredited laboratories in the region were released, with 1757 yielding negative results.
DOH data indicated that as of August 6, 2020, Western Visayas has had 918 active cases, 852 recoveries, and 24 deaths.
