W. Visayas cops nab 1,425 wanted persons in first three months of 2022

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 reported that 1,425 individuals with standing warrants of arrest were collared in the first three months of 2022.

The 1,424 Wanted Persons included 253 most wanted persons (MWP) and 1,172 other wanted persons (OWP).

Most wanted persons are those included in Top 10 (Municipal/Province/Region) with pending warrant of arrest and are mostly charged for a crime with no bail bond.

Also included in this classification are individuals with pending warrant and monetary reward for their capture.

OWPs are those with pending warrant of arrest that were not categorized as Top Most Wanted.

Negros Occidental has the highest number of arrested MWPs with 85 followed by Iloilo Province (46), Bacolod City (44), Iloilo City (23), Antique (19), Capiz (14), Aklan (11), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit 6 or CIDG-RFU6 (9), and Guimaras (2).

Negros Occidental also collared the most number of OWPs with 602, followed by Iloilo Province (183), Bacolod City (104), Aklan (67), Capiz (57), CIDG-RFU6 (46), Iloilo City (42), Antique (36), and Guimaras (35).

According to Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, PRO-6 director, these accomplishments were achieved through the strong coordination and collaboration between and among the community and the police.

“Rest assured that your police here in Western Visayas will not stop tracking the remaining wanted persons and bring them to the courts of law to answer the crime they’ve committed. It is our objective to cleanse our communities from the threat of criminality and we want that our people can sleep soundly at night and can roam around the streets with a sense of peace and security,” Dongbo said.
