ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A member of Barangay Police Auxiliary Team (BPAT) was arrested in a gun raid Wednesday morning at Brgy. Tugas, Mambusao Capiz.
Led by Capt. Alladen B. Talaban, Mambusao Police Station chief, the operatives served the search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Orendain Tunongbanua against Danilo Luching, a BPAT member of Brgy. Tugas, Mambusao Capiz.
The search warrant indicated that Luching kept a homemade shotgun and a caliber .38 revolver.
But during the raid, the police recovered from his house a shotgun and a caliber 45 pistol, and assorted ammunition of the same calibers.
Talaban said his office received information and complaints regarding Luching’s alleged indiscriminate firing of his shotgun, thus the raid.
Meanwhile, the police arrested Jorge Balois Y Mandate, 36 years old, single, and a resident of Brgy. Katipunan, Tapaz Capiz.
As per report from Maayon PNP, the police were conducting Oplan Bakal Sita inside Gabs Resto Bar in Poblacion Ilaya, Maayon Capiz when they chanced upon and search Balois.
A caliber 45 pistol with 5 bullets in a magazine was seized from Balois. He failed to present valid permits for the firearm.
