BACOLOD City – A village councilman was arrested for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition at Barangay Ilaya, Tayasan, Negros Oriental Tuesday.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Rosario Carriage of Regional Trial Court Branch 75 in Bais City, police raided the house of Junito Caballero Sabanal, 40, of the said village.
Authorities recovered from him a homemade .357 magnum, and six live ammunitions.
Sabanal is detained at Tayasan Municipal Police Station.
