TWO VILLAGE officials of Janiuay, Iloilo figured in a stabbing episode evening of May 18, 2019.
The incident left one of them injured and the other behind bars.
Police Captain Dadje Delima, Janiuay police chief, identified the suspect as Barangay Captain Rodolfo Mamon, 49, of Don T. Lutero East, Janiuay.
Rodolfo was immediately arrested after attacking Barangay Kagawad Jose Mamon, Sr., 62, also a resident of the said place.
The suspect is the victims uncle.
According to reports, Jose was on a drinking binge with some relatives by the roadside when Rodolfo passed by.
A confrontation allegedly took place between the two village officials until the suspect drew a knife and stabbed Joses left underarm.
He was brought to Federico Roman Tirador Sr Memorial District Hospital for treatment.
Rodolfo is now detained while charges are being readied against him.
