One of the deadliest three-point shooters during his stint in the PBA will not be gracing the court in a five-on-five setting.
Instead, Larry Fonacier and the NLEX Road Warriors mutually agreed to put him as their leader in the upcoming PBA 3×3 league.
After missing the bubble last season due to personal reasons, the former PH national team’s sniper is back and is seeking to lead NLEX as the first-ever PBA 3×3 champions.
“His return to form is faster than expected and in fact, his inclusion in the regular roster was even up to serious discussions. Talagang pinag-isipan namin ng husto,” said head coach Yeng Guiao.
Completing NLEX’s 3×3 team are big man Maurice Shaw, point guard Kyles Lao, AC Soberano, and former Fighting Maroons swingman David Murrell.
Fonacier, Shaw, Soberano, Lao, and Murrell will compete with heavyweight teams such as the TNT Tropang Giga led by Fil-Am high-flyer Jeremiah Gray.
Coaching NLEX’s solid lineup are Guiao’s apprentices in the PBA Borgie Hermida and Ilonggo Emman Monfort.
