Vendor Nabbed in P500K Drug Bust

ROXAS CITY, Capiz—Authorities seized illegal drugs worth approximately PHP 500,000 from a fish vendor during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Capiz Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU) in Sitio Switch, Barangay Adlawan, Roxas City, on Friday afternoon, January 24.
The suspect, identified as alias “Ramy,” 55, of Philippine Railway Street, Barangay 9, Roxas City, but temporarily residing in Barangay San Jose, was arrested after a police poseur-buyer completed the transaction.
Recovered from the suspect were 26 sachets of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of PHP 850,000 and an estimated weight of 125 grams. Authorities also confiscated PHP 100 in marked buy-bust money, PHP 10,000 in counterfeit buy-bust money of various denominations, a brown sling bag, and a lighter.
Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been prepared against the suspect, who is currently under the custody of the Roxas City Police.
