ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A vendor was arrested at noon Friday, April 10, by the Maritime Police for allegedly violating the Graphic Health Warnings Law in Barangay Vizcaya, President Roxas, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Abel, 45, a market vendor and resident of Barangay Poblacion Sur, President Roxas, Capiz.
Authorities said the Capiz Maritime Police Station was conducting a law enforcement operation in Barangay Vizcaya, President Roxas, when officers caught the suspect allegedly violating Republic Act No. 8424, or the Tax Reform Act of 1997, and Republic Act No. 10643, or the Graphic Health Warnings Law.
Recovered from the suspect were 90 reams of RGD Classic Red cigarettes with an estimated market value of PHP 97,200, one Samsung smartphone with an estimated value of PHP 5,000, and one red Honda TMX tricycle without a plate number.
The operation was conducted by joint personnel from the Capiz Maritime Police Station as lead unit, the Provincial Intelligence Team, and the President Roxas Municipal Police Station.
The suspect is under the custody of the President Roxas police for proper disposition.
