BACOLOD City – Vatican Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia paid a visit to seminarians at the Sacred Heart Seminary in Bacolod City as part of his four-day visit in the city.
In a video posted by the Diocese of Bacolod’s official news publication, ADSUM, seminarian Nikko Nacion asked Caccia on the current influence of social media, the present political persecution in the Philippines, and ecology.
Caccia replied by saying that the use of social media are good if they are used well, but it can also be used for bad influences.
“Never forget there are truths but most important are the intentions. We have to grow in the capacity to have good intentions,” Caccia said.
The Vatican envoy also told the seminarian that sometimes “we have to say no to say a bigger yes.”
After the event, Caccia also met with Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson at the provincial capitol for a dinner hosted by the provincial officials.
Caccia also shared some light moments with the governor and he even participated in the Filipino dance of “tinikling” with some of the children.
The Vatican envoy and Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle are both in Bacolod for the National Assembly of Diocesan Mission Directors.
