BACOLOD City – Mayor Evelio Leonardia received 100 oximeters and 100 blood pressure monitor apparatus donated to Bacolod City by Vallacar Transit, Inc., operator of Ceres buses.
Atty. Julius Entila, vice president for administration, represented Vallacar during the ceremonial turnover on Monday at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central, which hosts one of the 24 vaccination centers of the city.
The equipment will be used in the ongoing mass vaccination program of the City, Leonardia said.
Joining the mayor were Councilor Cindy Rojas, chair of the Action Team on Non-OFW Returning Residents; City Administrator Em Ang, executive director of EOC and coordinator of CoVaC; Secretary to the Mayor Atty. Edward Joseph Cuansing, EOC deputy for medical Dr. Chris Sorongon, and Ceres South Terminal manager Nixon Banbane.
The mayor said that the ongoing vaccination in 24 venues aims to accommodate the remaining frontline healthcare workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), and persons with comorbidities (A3).
The schedule of vaccination is based on a first-come, first-served sequence in the order that the registration came into the City’s data base, he said.
Only those who have completed their vaccination registration and have received a call or text from EOC informing them of their appointments, will be accommodated.
