ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The vaccination program in the province of Capiz kicked off Wednesday morning at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH).
First to receive the vaccine was RMPH chief of hospital Dr Edmarie Tormon followed by consultants Dra. Ernestine Urquiola and Dr. Consolacion Botin.
20 RMPH doctors were inoculated in support of the Department of Health’s campaign to prioritize the health frontliners.
Capiz Governor Esteban Evan Nonoy Contreras was also present during the kickoff.
Also present during the kickoff program were Provincial Administrator Edwin Monares, acting provincial health office chief Dr Alex Nolasco; Jing Pelaez of the Provincial Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO); Roxas City Councilors Midelo Ocampo, and Moreno Gonzaga.
Last Monday, the DOH-6 has delivered to Capiz 650 vials of the Sinovac vaccine.
Contreras said RMPH is the COVID-19 dedicated hospital in the province of Capiz.
He added that he will ask for more vaccines for the workers of district hospitals and private hospitals here.
Contreras said that the PHO has targeted 70 percent of the Capiceños to be vaccinated.
The governor said that aside from the 650 vials of Sinovac Vaccine, the province is expected to receive additional 2,500 doses of the same medicines.
