USWAG ILONGGO PARTY-LIST continues to prove its strength and growing national relevance as it secured the 7th spot among party-lists in the 2025 Midterm Elections, earning a total of 777,754 votes or 1.85% of the 41,658,790 total party-list votes cast nationwide.
This electoral milestone grants Cong. Jojo Ang a renewed mandate as the party-list’s first nominee, officially entering his second term in the House of Representatives.
The Ilonggo-rooted party continues to draw its strongest support from Western Visayas, with Iloilo Province leading at 364,566 votes, followed by Iloilo City (105,578), Aklan (88,225), Capiz (53,317), Antique (45,862), and Guimaras (44,560).
In a post-election statement, Cong. Ang extended his gratitude to the Ilonggo people and supporters across the country:
“Salamat guid sa inyo pagsalig. This victory is not mine alone, but a testament to the strength and unity of the Ilonggos. Rest assured, we will continue to work hard for meaningful legislation that promotes progress for our people.”
USWAG ILONGGO’s consistent performance affirms its reputation as one of the region’s most trusted political voices, championing pro-poor programs, education, healthcare, livelihood initiatives, and regional development.
With a strong presence in Congress, Cong. Ang vowed to uphold the party’s mission of inclusive growth and genuine public service.
“Padayon kita sa pag-uswag. This is a victory for every Ilonggo dreaming of a better, more empowered future.”
The 2025 results mark another high point in the party’s journey, signaling its deepening influence not only in the Visayas but also on the national stage.
In its second run for Congress, the partylist received strong backing from key political leaders in Iloilo, including former Senate President Franklin Drilon, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, and Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.
Comelec results showed that the partylist received 364,566 votes in the province of Iloilo, 105,959 in Iloilo City, 88,225 in Aklan, and 44,560 in Guimaras.
Uswag Ilonggo received 46,337 votes in Antique and 53,317 in Capiz.
In Negros Occidental, now part of the Negros Island Region, the party-list got 37,766 votes.
Ang will be joining six other Ilonggo lawmakers in the House of Representatives to lobby and push for programs that will benefit the Ilonggo community. (With a report from Rjay Zuriaga Castor)
