UP Visayas (UPV) Chancellor Clement C. Camposano, along with Office of Student Affairs Director Agustin G. Huyong, represented UPV during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. (BCFI) and Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI).
BCFI was represented by Executive Director Filipina C. Laurena, while PSFI was represented by Executive Director Sebastian C. Quiniones, Jr.
Representatives and officials from West Visayas State University (WVSU) and Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU) also attended the MOA signing. These universities are among fifteen institutions selected as partner institutions nationwide.
Mr. Quiniones welcomed the partner institutions and the funder of the scholarship program, BCFI, and introduced the Medical Scholarship Program (MSP).
The MSP is a new initiative aiming to support deserving students pursuing degrees in Doctor of Medicine, STEM, and Allied Health courses at various undergraduate levels, including technical vocational programs. PSFI, the social arm of Shell Pilipinas Corporation, is committed to supporting the educational journey of Filipino youth.
The MOA signing for MSP took place at Seda Atria, Iloilo City, on May 22, 2024. This partnership with selected state universities and colleges (SUCs) and institutions nationwide offers scholarships to students pursuing studies in medical, allied health, sciences, and engineering fields.
