The University of the Philippines Visayas School of Technology once again demonstrated academic excellence after being recognized as one of the top-performing schools in the May 2026 Computer-Based Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination, achieving a 100 percent passing rate.
All 10 graduates from UPV SOTECH successfully passed the licensure examination administered by the Professional Regulation Commission from May 20 to 22, 2026. With this achievement, UPV SOTECH reclaimed the No. 1 position among the country’s top-performing schools, alongside UP Los Baños, De La Salle University-Manila, and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
The PRC announced that 565 of 728 examinees passed the May 2026 Chemical Engineers Computer-Based Licensure Examination, which was administered by the Board of Chemical Engineering in testing centers nationwide.
The outstanding performance reflects the university’s continuing commitment to academic excellence and quality engineering education. It also highlights the dedication of the faculty, staff, and students in upholding the standards of the chemical engineering program and producing graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values needed in the profession.
UPV SOTECH has consistently performed well in the Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination through the years, reinforcing its reputation as one of the country’s leading institutions in engineering education. The latest accomplishment further strengthens the school’s mission of developing competent, innovative, and socially responsive chemical engineers who can contribute to national and global development.
