UPV signs MOA with WESVARRDEC

The University of the Philippines Visayas and the Western Visayas Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium signed a memorandum of agreement on Jan. 27, 2026, at the conference room of the Office of Initiatives in Culture and Arts at the UP Visayas Iloilo City campus.

The agreement was signed by UP Visayas Chancellor Dr. Clement C. Camposano and WESVARRDEC Consortium Director Dr. Pastor Jones T. Denusta.

The signing was witnessed by Assistant Prof. Rhea J. Subong-Espina, Project 15 leader under the RAISE Program, and Dr. Nikie Joe E. Deocampo, WESVARRDEC ICT cluster coordinator.

The ceremonial signing formalized the adoption and institutionalization of the Knowledge Management System under Project 15, also known as the Regional Knowledge Management Hub of the RAISE Program in Western Visayas Phase 2.

The RAISE Program, which stands for Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement, aims to strengthen research utilization, innovation and knowledge sharing among state universities, research institutions and development stakeholders in the region.

University officials said the partnership is expected to improve access to research outputs, enhance inter-agency collaboration and support evidence-based policymaking in the agriculture, aquatic and natural resources sectors. (Mary Arvic Dolendo/IPO)
