UPV School of Technology has 24 new Chemical Engineers

Twenty-four graduates of the BS Chemical Engineering degree of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) School of Technology (SOTECH) recently passed the Chemical Engineering Licensure Exam.
The passers are Noreen Beth M. Alberto, Rosielle T. Alcarde, Seannekate V. Amilbahar, Dianne Kaye S. Andrade, Monica G. Arreglo, Hannah Mae P. Azucena, Harold Art F. Babida, Beatriz Faye E. Bautista, Khryzel Khyle C. Busayong, Ruby Anne S. Buñao, Ivan Byrnn T. Demecillo, John Paul U. Fornillos, Mae Chelle B. Gallano, Xavier Kate M. Galvan, Janine Kate B. Jerusalem, Mary Grace B. Miravalles, Eli John V. Novela, Elaine Rose C. Ocampo, Fritz Z. Ortigas, Daryl Jan A. Padilla, Schlegel Irvine V. Padua, James Darryl E. Peñas, Shaira Mae D. Valero, and Kyle Denev V. Villaflor.
UPV was identified as one of the top-performing schools during the exam after getting an 82.76% passing rate. The national passing rate was 56.69%.
SOTECH Dean, Dr. Ramer Bautista, congratulated the passers in a social media post.
Aside from the excellent performance of SOTECH’s graduates in the licensure exam, Dr. Bautista also announced that the MS Food Science degree is now included in the priority list under the Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (ASTHRDP) starting AY 2022-2023.
“We are also congratulating our BS FT/MS FS Faculty for complying with all the requirements for the inclusion of MS Food Science in the priority graduate courses under the DOST-SEI Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (ASTHRDP),” Dr. Bautista shared.
Dr. Bautista hopes that these recent achievements by the SOTECH graduates and its faculty will further boost the enrolment this coming AY 2022-2023. (UPV-IPO)
