A series of exhibitions of artworks by major Filipino artists, that include Juan Luna, Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo, and Fernando Amorsolo, among others, will be held in the UPV Museum of Art and Cultural Heritage (UPV MACH) later this year.
The series of exhibitions and art education collaboration between UPV MACH and the Lopez Museum will consist of several exhibitions that will be held between October 2023 and February 2025.
Prof. Martin Genodepa, Director of OICA, and some staff met on February 6 with Lopez Museum and Library’s Executive Director Ms. Mercedes Lopez Vargas, and Ms. Marga Villanueva, Manager of Conservation, to finalize preparations for the initial exhibitions and their collateral art education programs that are slated to open on October 28.
Prof. Patrick Flores, currently the Deputy Director of the National Gallery of Singapore, will curate the exhibitions while Prof. Genodepa will prepare the complementary educational modules.
Former Senator Franklin Drilon and Tourism Secretary Narzalina Lim are supporting the project which will also be tapping the assistance of the local government of Iloilo City through City Mayor Jerry Treñas. (OICA)
