UPV, ISCOF grads dominate Fisheries Technologist exams

Graduates of the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) in Miag-ao, Iloilo and Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo clinched the top spots in the October 2019 Fisheries Technologist licensure exams.
Gardel Xyza Libunao of UPV topped the board exam with a rating of 89 percent followed by Rico Ian Descutido Ong (87.75%) and Robinson Amihan Jr. (86.25%) of ISCOF.
Aside from Libunao, ten other UPV graduates landed in the top ten spots:
- Top 4: Whelver Surnido (UPV)-86%
- Top 5: Kim John Balboa (UPV)-85.75%
- Top 8: Thereze Pauline Capaque (UPV)-84.75%
Josette Emlen Genio (UPV)-84.75%
Amethyl Pernito (UPV)-84.75%
Isidro Tanangonan(UPV)-84.75%
- Top 9: Rhiannen Marie Licera (UPV)-84.50%
Karl Angelo Tenizo (UPV)-84.50%
- Top 10: Therese Javellana (UPV)-84.25%
Fedelia Flor Mero (UPV)-84.50%
UPV also emerged as the top performing school in the board exam with 105 out of 109 passers (96.33 percent).
Out of the 2,101 takers, 731 passed the Fisheries Technologist licensure exam, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
