UP Visayas tops Iloilo universities in EduRank 2026 rankings

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) is the number one university in Iloilo according to EduRank.org as of March 15, 2026.

The ranking platform also placed UPV 14th out of 229 universities in the Philippines, 1,834th out of 5,830 in Asia, and 5,157th out of 14,131 in the world. In the specialized category of Wildlife and Fisheries Management and Conservation, UPV ranked 1,190th out of 3,467 institutions globally.

According to EduRank, the rankings were generated by analyzing 17,900 citations received by 1,780 academic publications made by nine universities from Iloilo, the popularity of 18 recognized alumni, and the largest reference database available.

EduRank.org is an independent ranking platform that assesses 14,131 universities in 183 countries using a metrics-driven approach. It draws on one of the largest global databases of scholarly work, containing 119,627,370 scientific publications and 3,164,054,493 citations, to evaluate institutions across 246 research areas. Its overall rankings also factor in measures of non-academic visibility and the popularity of alumni.
