Unlicensed guns seized in Roxas City raid

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Authorities seized unlicensed firearms and several types of live ammunition during a search of a resident’s house in Barangay Talon on Wednesday evening, July 1.
Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Capiz Provincial Field Unit, together with the Roxas City Police Station, Capiz Provincial Intelligence Team, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, and Capiz Provincial Police Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit, searched the house of a 40-year-old man identified only as Edwin in Sitio Talon.
The search was conducted under Search Warrant Nos. 27-2026 and 28-2026 issued by Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Lorencito B. Diaz of Branch 17 in Roxas City.
Recovered from the house were a .45-caliber pistol with a magazine loaded with five live rounds, a long barrel for a 12-gauge shotgun with live ammunition, several live rounds for 9 mm and .22-caliber firearms, seven empty shells for a .45-caliber firearm, and bullet holsters.
The suspect was arrested and brought to the Roxas City Police Station for recording.
He was later transferred to the CIDG-Capiz office for documentation and the filing of charges.
