BACOLOD CITY – In a grisly find, a severed leg from an unidentified individual was discovered inside a garbage bag on a vacant lot in Purok Proper, Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday night.
A 45-year-old farmer, who was leading his carabao to the lot, was alerted by a foul smell and found the human limb.
“We have yet to identify the owner of the severed leg,” Police Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Indiape Jr., the city police chief, said, noting the absence of any note or message typically associated with drug-related incidents.
The leg was subsequently sent to a funeral parlor.
In a separate incident, a deceased dolphin was located along the coast of Barangay Tuyom, Cauayan town, on the same day.
Chan Yeen, a visitor in the area, found the injured mammal and shared the image on Facebook. The dolphin’s death remains unexplained, and it was interred the following day.
