BACOLOD City – The body of an unidentified man was found near a creek in a sugarcane field at Barangay Vista Alegre here Wednesday.
Police Inspector Florentino Abalayan, head of Police Station 7, said the victim suffered injuries on his neck and stomach when found by a resident around 3 p.m.
Abalayan cannot tell if the man succumbed to gunshot wounds, though a witness heard gunfire in the area.
Police recovered an empty shell of .45-caliber ammunition.
Abalayan said a witness saw a man on board a motorcycle when he came out of his house to check where the gunshots came from.
