Uncle who shot dead minor nephew surrenders

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 40-year-old man voluntarily surrendered to the police after he shot dead his 16-year-old nephew Friday night in Barangay Carataya, Cuartero, Capiz.
Rommel Felipe voluntarily gave himself up after days of hiding. He is accused of shooting his nephew Dennis Felipe also of said place.
Investigation by the Cuartero Municipal Police Station under Police Executive Master Sergeant Arnold Batacandolo indicated that the victim went to the house of the suspect to look for his older brother.
But the irate Rommel shot his nephew’s jaw and leg.
The victim died at Dao District Hospital.
Rommel allegedly held a grudge against the victim’s older brother.
Prior to the incident, a commotion occurred between the suspect and the older brother.
Recovered from the crime scene were four empty shells of.45-caliber ammunition.
