ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A man and his nephew were caught allegedly selling illegal drugs amid the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Carlo Roxas, 22, and Jastine Roxas, 19 were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation Wednesday noon at Barangay Tanque here.
The Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Roxas City Police Station led the operation.
According to Barangay Kagawad Boy Almeda, the two have been under surveillance by the police for their alleged illicit trade.
Recovered from the suspects were 9 sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, coin purse and a cellphone.
Police estimated the total value of the seized drugs at P3,000.
The suspects are detained at the Roxas City Police Station while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against the suspects.
