ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A murder case is being readied against an uncle who shot dead his 33-year-old nephew Sunday night at Sitio Ilawod, Barangay Capagao in Panitan, Capiz.
Police Lt. Avelino Villareal, Panitan police chief, said Dennis Depanay, 45, also of said place, is now the subject of a manhunt after he shot Micheal Obligar a construction worker temporarily residing in Brgy. Banica.
Obligar succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds in the chest.
Based on the investigation of Panitan Municipal Police Station, Obligar and the suspect were drinking liquor when a heated argument ensued between them.
Depanay went home and returned a few minutes later with a 12-guage shotgun.
The suspect shot Obligar and dragged the victim to the open space. Not contented, the uncle hit the head of the victim with a bottle of beer before he fled.
The victim died at Bailan District Hospital.
