One of the best mixed martial artists in the Philippines and Asia. Mark Striegl, will face a delay with his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut.
Originally slated on August 22, 2020 (August 23, Sunday, Philippine time) the Striegl-Timur Valiev bout all of a sudden vanished from the undercard fights.
Instead, Striegl was replaced by Trevin Jones, another UFC newcomer with a current record of 12-6 whose momentum is surging after a two-fight winning streak.
Multiple sources still have not confirmed why Striegl was ruled out of his debut match but Russian reporter Igor Lazorin first put out the developing story.
Striegl, the former Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) title holder, decided to test the waters in the UFC because he felt this is the most prestigious league he has yet to join.
Originally an undisputed featherweight champion, the 32-year-old Fil-Am chose to get lined-up in the bantamweight division because he thinks this is the most competitive weight class.
“I fought everywhere but the UFC is definitely the promotion that has alluded me my whole career so definitely yeah, I’m here in Vegas to make that dream come true and to make this opportunity happen,” said Striegl.
