The country’s premier collegiate league, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), is finally back for another season.
The Ateneo de Manila University hosted the Season 82’s opening ceremony on September 1, 2019, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The hosts were able to put on a spectacular opening ceremony even without the presence of an NBA superstar like Stephen Curry – who graced last year’s opening ceremony hosted by the National University.
Gretchen Ho, a former Ateneo volleyball player, hosted the event and also headlined the Atenistas that helped electrify the ceremony.
Two of the most famous bands in the OPM scene, Itchyworms, and Spongecola entertained the crowd who filled the venue, energizing the crowd with their songs.
The Blue Babble Battalion and the Company of Ateneo Dancers grooved to the move, delivering a series of dance numbers that jolted the crowd.
