ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Two women were arrested Tuesday evening, July 7, in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Capiz Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit at Severino Subdivision in Barangay Baybay, Roxas City.
Police identified the suspects as Jessmar Abuyo, 27, of Baybay, Roxas City, and Ma. Concepcion Eudela, 24, of Malipayon Village, Barangay Tiza, Roxas City.
Eudela was classified as a street-level individual.
Recovered from Abuyo’s possession were three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams with an estimated street value of PHP 340,000, PHP 8,000 in buy-bust money, and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.
In a media interview, Abuyo admitted using illegal drugs but denied ownership of the recovered illegal items.
She added that she was released from jail in July 2025 after availing herself of a plea bargain agreement.
Abuyo was arrested in 2024 in a drug buy-bust operation by police and classified as a high-value individual.
She admitted using illegal drugs and said her source was from Philippines Railway Street in Barangay IX.
Eudela, on the other hand, did not deny the illegal activities and admitted using illegal drugs before the buy-bust operation.
The two suspects are in the custody of the Roxas City Police Station for proper disposition and documentation, while charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against them.
