ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Two wanted persons facing charges of homicide and illegal possession of firearms and drugs were arrested by police in separate operations Wednesday here and in Tapaz, Capiz.
The Roxas City police nabbed Abelardo Mahilum, 20, of Sitio Arcabalo, Brgy. Bolo here at the house of a relative in Graceville Subd., Barangay Tiza also in this city.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Jennie Ann Tayag Logronio of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) Branch 1 in Roxas City on May 25, 2021.
The court recommended P36,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
Mahilum was the suspect in the stabbing of Daniel Paul Villaruz, 26, of Barangay Punta Tabuc here.
He is presently detained at the Roxas City Police Station for failure of him to post bail.
Meanwhile, the Tapaz police in Tapaz, Capiz nabbed Allan Caspillo, 43, of Barangay Tacayan, Tapaz.
Caspillo is wanted for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and RA 9516 (the law against illegal possession, manufacture, acquisition, and distribution of firearms).
Regional Trial Court Branch 21Judge Rommel Leonor of Mambusao, Capiz issued the warrant.
The court recommended a P120,000 bail for the RA 10591 case but none in the RA 9516 case.
The suspect is presently detained at the Tapaz police station.
