BACOLOD City – Two boys who were riding a motorcycle died after they collided with a six-wheeler truck at Barangay 13, Victorias City, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
Police withheld the names of the victims aged 13 and 15, both residents of Barangay 20.
Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo Corpuz, city police chief, said the accident happened when the victims allegedly overtook a vehicle and swerved to the opposite lane, hitting the truck driven by Vergil Susana, 26, of Talisay City.
Corpuz said the victims were thrown off from their alleged speeding motorcycle, causing them head injuries.
The victims were brought to a hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
They were not wearing helmets and did not have driver’s licenses, the police chief said.
Corpuz said the truck driver was released from police custody on Wednesday night after the lapse of the 18-hour reglementary detention.
