BACOLOD City – Two male minors were arrested for alleged possession of illegal drugs in a police checkpoint in Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental last Monday.
The names of the arrested individuals aged 15 and 16, both residents of Barangay 5, were withheld by police.
Police Lieutenant Ruby Aurita, public information officer of San Carlos City Police Station, said the teenagers who were on board a motorcycle reportedly disobeyed the checkpoint by ignoring the policemen who flagged them down.
“Wala sila mga lisensya kay minors and may curfew pa kita,” she added.
Police recovered from them four sachets of suspected shabu worth P2,040, and two lighters.
Aurita said the minors were turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Guidance Center for custody.
