Two Skeletal Remains Found in Bacolod Field

BACOLOD CITY – Police are awaiting results from skeletal examinations before proceeding with DNA tests on two sets of skeletal remains found separately in a sugarcane field at Hacienda Garcia, Barangay Alangilan, last Wednesday.

Police Capt. Portia Nillosan, head of Police Station 5, said a family from an undisclosed barangay came forward, believing the remains belong to their three missing relatives—two men and a woman—who were reported missing since June last year.

The first skeletal remains were discovered by sugar workers around 8:30 a.m., while the second set was found around 2:45 p.m. the same day.

The remains have been subjected to skeletal examinations conducted by the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) to determine the cause of death.

While the examination process can typically be completed within a week, Nillosan noted that the timeframe depends on SOCO’s current caseload.

The family is willing to undergo DNA testing to confirm if the remains belong to their missing relatives.
