Two persons were injured in yet another road incident involving a motorcycle.
The incident happened 9:30 a.m. of March 16, 2021 at Barangay Magbato, Lambunao, Iloilo.
Injured were Lasidro Vestuir, 35, and his backrider, Veronica Almirante, 62, both residents of Barangay Coto, Lambunao.
Master Sergeant Marvin Sison, Lambunao police investigator, said Lasidro suffered a fractured leg while Almirante had bruises on her body.
Investigation disclosed that Vestuir was tailing a jeepney, which suddenly stopped. He maneuvered to overtake the vehicle and encroached a portion of the opposite lane.
Vestuir then collided with the passenger jeepney driven by Joevinal Mahinay, 42, of Barangay Poong, Lambunao.
Sison said Mahinay tried to evade hitting the jeepney until he overshot the road.
“But the motorcycle was still hit. Luckily, both riders were not thrown out of the vehicle and did not suffer life-threatening injuries,” he said.
Both riders were rushed to Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial District Hospital for treatment.
