ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two persons facing rape and child abuse cases were arrested by police in separate operations in Capiz Friday afternoon.
Gilbert Voluntad Bueno, 37, of Sitio Camantugan, Barangay Bangon-bangon in Sigma did not resist when police served his warrant of arrest issued by Judge Daniel Antonio Gerardo S. Amular of the Regional Trial Court Branch 21 in Mambusao-Capiz on May 30, 2006.
The suspect went into hiding after he was charged 16 years ago. He is presently detained at the Sigma Municipal Police Station as the court forbade him from posting bail.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old person was also arrested by the police for rape, child abuse, and molestation.
Jeffrey Alba of Barangay Canapi-an, Maayon town was charged for violation of Republic Act No. 7610 (Section 5 B) or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Alba is detained at Maayon Municipal Police Station.
