BACOLOD City – Two persons, including a high school student, were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Negros Occidental in the past two days.
In Kabankalan City, Genebert Taco, 39, of Barangay 8 was apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 2, following the alleged seizure of 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000.
According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental, Taco is a high-value individual who is a priority target at the regional level.
“This means that all operating units in Western Visayas can subject him to a police operation,” a PDEA agent said.
Taco was previously arrested by the local police, according to PDEA.
In Manapla town, an 18-year-old boy was arrested after he was caught by his teacher allegedly possessing suspected marijuana inside his bag while they were having a lecture inside the classroom last Monday.
The school turned over to the police nine packs of suspected marijuana, a wooden pipe, a lighter, and P55.
The teenager was taken to the police station.
