In Hinigaran town, Joel Guanzon, 32, of Zone V, Barangay Tagda went fishing with five companions on board a boat when he dived into the water.
Guanzon used a compressor diving kit but he drowned when he reportedly got trapped in a fishing net and failed to move out, police records indicated.
He was declared dead on arrival at a hospital in the neighboring town of Isabela.
In Himamaylan City, Narciso Esperal, 64, of Barangay Talaban also drowned in a river.
He was last seen sitting in an abandoned fishpond when he allegedly swam the river towards Punta Talaban, where he was found floating along the shoreline, as indicated in the police report.
