Two patients from Iloilo beat COVID-19
Two more patients in Region 6 survived the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Department of Health in Western Visayas -Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD 6) reported on May 4, 2020. Two more patients in Region 6 survived the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Department of Health in Western Visayas -Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD 6) reported on May 4, 2020.
In its Case Bulletin No. 39, the health department recorded two additional COVID-19 recoveries from the city and province of Iloilo.
According to Dr. May Ann Soliva-Sta. Lucia, cluster head of Health Promotion of DOH-CHD 6, the two recoveries include a 24-year-old male from Tigbauan, Iloilo, and (WV Patient No. 48) and a 77-year-old female from Jaro district in Iloilo City (WV Patient No. 46).
“We recorded two new recoveries as of May 4. Ini sila si WV Patient No. 48 and WV Patient No. 46. Ang WV Patient No. 46 from Jaro, close contact ini siya sang WV Patient No. 17 who is a 44-year-old male from Jaro nga naka-recover naman sa Covid-19,” Sta. Lucia said in a virtual press briefing on Monday.
Sta. Lucia said Region 6 now has 29 COVID-19 survivors.
For the second straight day, the health department recorded no new COVID-19 cases in the region, which has 72 cases so far.
All 348 laboratory results released on Monday yielded negative results, according to Sta. Lucia.
But Bacolod City recorded another COVID-19-related death, bringing the total fatalities in the region to 10.
Sta. Lucia said the patient, a 40-year-old male from Bacolod City (WV Patient No. 40), died due to cardiac arrest and cardiovascular disease.
Meanwhile, laboratory results of over 200 repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the region are still pending.
Five of the repatriates who tested positive for Covid-19 were transferred to West Visayas Sanitarium in Santa Barbara, Iloilo on Sunday, according to Sta. Lucia.
