Two new police stations unveiled

BACOLOD City – Two police stations in Negros Occidental were inaugurated last Friday.

Police Colonel Patrick Villacorte, acting deputy regional director for administration of Police Regional Office – 6 (PRO-6) led the inauguration rites in Talisay City and Candoni town, along with Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo).

According to Police Major Jigger Gimeno, chief of Talisay City Police Station, the Philippine National Police (PNP) allocated P14 million for the construction of the city’s new police station situated in a 1,000 square meter lot donated by the city government.

Gimeno said that the police station is a three-storey building equipped with facilities.

He said that they can now receive complaints at the new police station located at the back of the new City Hall at Barangay Zone 12-A.

Meanwhile, Candoni Municipal Police Station also unveiled its newly constructed police station located at the heart of the municipality.

According to Police Captain Ronald Santillan, chief of Candoni Municipal Police Station, the PNP provided a budget of P5.4 million for the newly constructed station situated at the 400 square-meter lot donated by the municipal government.

The new police station is located at S. Pajarillo Street, near Candoni public plaza.

He said that they have yet to transfer to the said police station because they are waiting for the perimeter fence to be completed.

In his message, Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, regional director of PRO-6, lauded the frontliners for their resilience and strength in maintaining the province as a safe and healthy place to live, work and do business in.

He added that the inauguration and blessing of the new police stations is a much-needed positivity amid these trying times.

The local governments of Talisay and Candoni were also recognized for their support to the project.

These police stations are the approved and standard building types for both city and municipal police stations.
