BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental provincial government Incident Management Team reported that two towns in Negros Occidental are COVID-19 free as of Dec 26, 2020.
The COVID-free towns are Don Salvador Benedicto and Pulupandan.
The report also said that 12 local government units (LGUs) recorded single-digit active cases: Cadiz City, nine; Escalante and Valladolid, eight each; Hinoba-an Murcia, and Toboso, seven each; Pontevedra, six; Manapla, four each; La Castellana, San Enrique, and Sipalay with three each; and Candoni with only one active case.
Bago City has the most number of active cases with 24, followed by Victorias City with 23, San Carlos City, 21; Sagay City, 17; Isabela and Moises Padilla with 15 each; Silay City, 14; Kabankalan and EB Magalona with 12; Talisay, Ilog, and La Carlota with 11 each; and Himamaylan and Hinigaran with 10 each.
As of Dec 27, Negros Occidental has 6,340 cases including 387 active cases.
Recoveries totaled 5,804 while 146 died.
