ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Two persons were arrested while another one escaped from a drug buy bust operation conducted Sunday afternoon at Brgy. Intampilan Panitan, Capiz.
The Maayon police identified the suspects as Rejay Lanes, 24, of Sitio Tugas Brgy. San Jose here; and Remfin Celoso of Barangay Daga, Panay, Capiz.
Police recovered 9 sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, a home-made gun, two cellphones, tricycle, and drug paraphernalia.
The buy-bust was jointly conducted by the Maayon and Panitan municipal police stations.
According to Police Lt. Avelino Villareal, Panitan police chief, a certain Tonton, who was one of the subjects of the operations, escaped after sensing that he was dealing with an undercover cop.
Villareal said Celoso and Lanes denied they were into the illegal drug trade, but they admitted using illegal drugs.
The two are detained at Panit-an Municipal Police Station while charges for violations of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against them.
