ROXAS, Capiz – Two persons were arrested in a firearm buy-bust operation Saturday afternoon at Sitio Kamatis in Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas, Capiz.
Police identified the suspects as Roel Pioquid, 53, of Sitio Euscade, Barangay Badiangon; and John Alfred Caballero, 23, of Barangay Cabug-Cabug of said town.
Reports from President Roxas Municipal Police Station indicated that the duo allegedly sold hot guns to a police poseur-buyer.
Recovered from their possession were a caliber 5.56 Armalite rifle with two steel magazines, 43 live ammunitions for the said rifle, the P39,500 marked money, and a tricycle.
The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act or Illegal Possession of Firearms.
