BACOLOD CITY — Two persons were arrested in a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of PHP 748,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay 10 on Tuesday.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) identified the suspects as “Wen,” 56, of Barangay 10, and “Pat,” 37, of Barangay 8.
Police tagged them as a high-value individual and a street-level individual, respectively.
Recovered from the suspects were 110 grams of suspected shabu and PHP 1,000 in marked money.
Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, said Wen allegedly kept the illegal drugs and was selling the contraband.
Legada said Wen was listed 10th on the city-level drug watchlist.
He added that both suspects were arrested for a drug offense for the first time.
They are detained at Police Station 2.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, said the campaign against illegal drugs remains a top priority for the regional office.
“We will not slow down, we will continue to strengthen our operations to ensure a safer and drug-free Negros Island Region,” he said.
The regional office emphasized the importance of public cooperation in sustaining momentum in the intensified anti-drug campaign.
