Two residents of Aguinaldo village in LaPaz, Iloilo City were arrested Thursday morning for allegedly stealing electricity from the lines of MORE Electric and Power Corp.
MORE Power’s Apprehension Team identified the persons as Bonie Jun Jaruda, 40; and Edgardo Clarito, 66.
MORE Power records indicated that this is the third time that they found jumper or illegal connection in Clarito’s house and the second that he was caught in the act of pilfering electricity.
The team first discovered the illegal connection in Clarito’s house on May 31, 2021 and was again apprehended on Feb 20, 2022 for the same alleged violation. He was detained but was later released on bail.
MORE Power claimed that Clarito even distributes or sells electricity to his neighbors using the alleged illegal connection.
Jaruda ang Clarito are detained at LaPaz Police Station and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 7832 (Anti-Pilferage of Electricity and Theft of Electric Transmission Lines/Materials Act of 1994).
