BACOLOD CITY – Two motorcycle riders died, and one passenger was injured, following a collision on the Granada-Alangilan road in Hacienda Carmen, Barangay Granada, on Sunday night.
Police identified the fatalities as “Jeriel,” 26, of Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, and “Helbert,” 28, of Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod City.
Jeriel’s passenger, “Jigger,” 32, also from Himamaylan City, sustained injuries.
Police Lt. Col. Ramel Sarona, head of the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), said Jeriel was traveling toward Barangay Granada when he allegedly executed a sudden counterflow, leading to the crash.
None of the three individuals involved in the accident were wearing helmets, Sarona added.
Helbert was reportedly on his way home when the accident occurred around 7:15 p.m.
Jeriel and Helbert were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Jigger is now in stable condition and recuperating at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Sarona confirmed.
